Pictures on the BBC news site show wedding photos from China that were being taken when the quake struck. Compare picture 1 and picture 4, of the same building.

Yesterday morning, when I awoke to NPR's PRIMARY PRIMARY PRIMARY coverage, I couldn't believe that my first thought was "Oh thank God we're back to the political stuff." Two weeks of waking up to unrelenting tragedy from the cyclone and the earthquake does tend to shift one's viewpoint a bit.

(Mind you, this morning I was back to being annoyed at the political stuff. Relief at it can only go so far.)

Hrm. I'm looking at the stats for the Project Blue Rose website, and as always (same with magatsu.net), there's a few hits from a crunchyroll.com group called "The Deliciousness of Men." Poking about crunchyroll leads me to believe it's a secret group - one that's invite-only and that you can't see the info for unless you receive an invite - which annoys me because I'm not sure if the PBR stuff is getting credited. The doujinshi on magatsu.net being hotlinked is less important than the fact that I think PBR things may be hotlinked without credit so that we can't, y'know, sell these things to people. Anyone here happen to be a member of that group who can tell me? (Long chance, I know.) I may have to resort to making a special image for hotlinkers like I did with Kenpachi-chan that contains sample pics and an ad telling people to go to projectbluerose.com. Or to invite me into their group. :)

And for amusement sake, I present the top 20 search strings that got the Project Blue Rose site this month. (Note that the vast majority - 2/3 or so - are from image searches.)

IT'S A BOOK!

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
The copies of Project Blue Rose: Human Touch are heeeeere!

Note that this does not mean I'm sending pre-orders out now, because that takes a not-inconsiderable amount of time that I don't have before A-Kon. :D

Is there anyone out there with a copy of the American edition of [info]rachelmanija's All the Fishes Come Home to Roost and a scanner who could scan the front cover for me tonight? I need a higher resolution version than I've got right now. I've got the book and a scanner, but the scanner's hooked to a computer that's on the fritz and fixing that would require me popping the case open and transferring its card over to the new computer and rearranging my desk so that it will fit with the cord and that's Just Not Happening tonight.

I have a Plan B if this fails (it's for business cards for her), but it'd be nice to have the actual cover.

Off home now - the UPS website says the Human Touch boxes have been delivered to my apartment office! :D

New pic by Feimo on DA: Yin Yang Shi. I don't know if it's supposed to be anyone specific *coughSeimeicough*, or just a random onmyouji as the description is in Chinese. Feimo illustrates a lot of books professionally, so either could be the case. (ETA: [info]greenapple2004 confirms that the descriptions says it's Seimei. :D)

My right eye twitches a bit at all the fanbrats in the comments who are going "OMG IS THAT SAI FROM HIKARU NO GO?!" even though realistically I know that Sai is the only person in Heian costume that they're likely to have ever seen. (although you'd think that checking teh description to see if it's in fanart or in painting would give them a clue...)

*yawn* It's Colonial time again 'round here. The Colonial golf club hosts a huge tournament yearly, so parts of University Drive that I go down every morning are lined with ticket scalpers buying and selling, and many of the parking lots have sprouted NO GOLF PARKING signs overnight.

I am still strung out from lack of sleep, even though I slept much better last night than nights previously. I (and my mother, for some odd coincidental reason) seem to be waking up at 5:30 every morning, unable to go back to sleep. Yesterday I gave up and went in to work at 7. Last night, however, I woke up several times, at first convinced I was still lying awake but then realizing that no, moments previously I had been driving a small red convertible only slightly larger than a Shriner's car, accompanied by two dogs, so I'd most likely been asleep. Other highlights of the night's wacky dreams, which all followed the same pattern of waking up convinced I'd been awake all along until I realized that I'd been dreaming:
